This time of year, changes can happen overnight. This sambucus has the most amazing colour contrasts, spring green and purple. A few days ago the buds were tight, today they are bursting forth. The nubbly bud, trapped for the winter, has been released and is expanding with the warmth. I think the leaves have an exquisite shape and colour.
