Feed the birds! If you haven't already got a birdfeeder outside your window, you might want to consider putting one up. What a pleasure to watch the birds come to feed. Being indoors, you have a toasty perch from which to watch our feathered friends. It makes for moments of delight throughout the day, especially when a cardinal, bluejay or some other flashy species stops by. And it makes you feel just plain good to have provided an energy source when the temperatures plummet and food gathering becomes difficult for these wee creatures.
The chickadees are frequent visitors and become comfortable enough to take seed from your hand. Children love this!
