A Return Engagement
Here I am getting to dress the window of my favourite tea shop once again. Turns out it's something I love to do. I thought I would! So much fun. This was the February window, so Valentine's had to play a part.
Once again my sweater hearts made an appearance.
Lots of pretty chintz and florals in various shades of pink.
Valentine's Day is the perfect time to highlight a line of jewelry made from bits of china.
Tea for two?

Happy Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine's Day! I picked up this cloth heart-shaped box in a thrift shop a couple of months ago, thinking that I might be able to use it for Valentine's Day in some way.
I found a bunch of these lovely two-tone pink roses at the supermarket and cut the stems down so that they would just peek out the top. The box is covered in fabric so I placed a squat jam jar inside to hold the water. The box's lid has a lovely lace top. It makes a lovely Valentine's vignette.

Afternoon Tea with Treats

After baking all sorts of Valentine's themed treats, it is nice to sit back and relax with a hot mug of tea in one of my favourite mugs. I brought this Cath Kidston mug back from my trip to England this summer. I love its pretty floral pattern.
And of course it's only wise to try out some of that baking to make sure that it came out just right!

Faded Beauty

My Valentine's Day roses were so beautiful, a scrumptious blend of pretty warm colours. They don't stop being roses once they pass their prime. They're still lovely, their colours muted and faded to a softness that speaks of a gentleness that evolves with the passing of time. It is possible to appreciate both states of being.

Enjoy a Valentine

Happy St. Valentine's Day!
Fear not, there is still time to create a little Valentine magic with this simple idea. It is as easy as cutting out some paper hearts... just like you did in primary school. I used origami paper, but any pretty paper will do: wrapping paper, leftover wallpaper, stationery, whatever you have on hand. You may need to glue your paper to card stock to stiffen your hearts, but that is as complicated as it gets. Pierce the heart, thread a cord or ribbon through, and hang. You could also use these as gift tags. Lovely and easy!

Indulge in Chocolate

One of the benefits of Valentine's Day falling in February is that there's lots of chocolate around. I can't think of a month where chocolate is more welcome. So indulge a little. A small amount of good chocolate goes a long way

Rose Heart

This huge hanging heart with its large pink roses, in a florist's window, took me by surprise as I was passing by with a friend today. It must have been about three feet wide. I had to stop and take a photograph to share with you.
